Study: Big Breakfast Diet the key to weight loss
In addition to the Dr. Jakubowiczs findings which is getting a lot of publicity right now, an earlier study also came to similar conclusions.
According to researchers from Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, skipping breakfast forces the body to store lunch and dinner as fat.
The doctors involve in the study sampled the eating habits of almost 7000 men and women living in Norfolk in the United Kingdom.
Amazingly, they found that those who ate the biggest breakfast put on the least amount of weight. This was despite the fact that they ate more calories overall.
Those who had a big breakfast diet consumed the most energy, yet had lower BMIs and weight.
The researchers conclude that the body best metabolises calories if it receives them early in the day. If breakfast is skipped then the body is more likely to store calories when they are eaten later.
